Learning to drive costs a lot of money. Lessons, licences, taking the theory and practical tests – it all adds up to a hefty sum.

Use Your Friends and Family
Getting as much practice as you can before your test is vital, but lots of lessons means lots of spending. If possible, get a family member or licenced friend to take you out between your lessons to help you get more experience of driving under your belt.
Use An Intensive Driving Course

Revision
You’re probably already doing a ton of studying at the moment but preparation is the key to passing first time. The more confident you are in your knowledge, the more confident a driver you will be. Read up on the Highway Code, memorise street signs and symbols and learn the proper speed limits for every type of road.
Mock Tests
Ask your instructor if you can have a mock test before the real thing. He or she can conduct one of your usual lessons as a practical driving test instead, giving you the type of instructions you are likely to hear on your real test.
These mock tests, as well as watching practical driving tests online, will give you an insight into what you can expect on the day.
Know Your Route
Most practical driving tests are booked and taken in your home town so chances are you will already be familiar with the local routes. However, if you are taking your test in an unfamiliar area, such as where you go to University or near where you work, you should practice driving in that region as much as you can.
Unfortunately there is no magic trick to passing your driving test first time, but you can definitely improve your chances and save yourself a lot of money!
